We planted our hydrangea last year and mistakenly pruned it early this spring; thus, no flowers this year. It has, however, made good growth. When do we prune again?

The Hydrangea macrophylla flowers emerge from buds formed on the previous season's growth, and pruning should be done right after flowering. Unless the plant has grown out of bounds, there is no reason to prune it; if you do, you will be cutting off those flower buds. Wait until next spring after it has bloomed.
