Could you advise on how to stop birds from eating holly berries?

You will have to cover the plants with Grow-Web or other netting. Grow-Web is also sold as Reemay and Plant Guard. The fabric would have to cover the entire tree and act as a barrier. Many people use fruit-bearing plants to attract wildlife such as birds to their landscape. If you value the berries more than the birds, some control strategy is appropriate. However, the control strategy itself may interfere with the appearance of the plant. Monitor any netting to make sure you are not catching birds in or under the net. Remember, the berries are an attractant, and netting can kill.
