Greenhouse walkways are typically made of 3/4-inch crushed stone or pea gravel laid to a depth of four inches. This material will provide a porous medium for water to evaporate in summer and provide some cooling effect. If a solid floor is desired, one or more French drains will need to be installed with the floor sloped toward the drain openings. Such plumbing should ideally be incorporated into the greenhouse foundation during construction.
