How hot and how cold does Kentucky get in any given year?

The mean annual temperature varies from 56 degrees F in the extreme north to 59 degrees F in southwestern counties. July is usually the warmest month and January the coldest. Extreme summer temperatures usually reach 100 degrees F at most locatons, but only infrequently. Minimum temperatures of 0 degree F or below can be expected during December, January, and February at most locations, but again not too often.
