I live in NW San Antonio in a neighborhood with lots of deer. How would Indian paintbrush and bluebonnets do here?

Unfortunately, we cannot tell you how the deer will respond to these wildflowers in your neighborhood. Based on previous experience, we believe that they would "graze" on the bluebonnets (Lupinus texensis), but how heavily is not known. The same would be true for the paintbrush (Castilleja indivisa).

Remember that if deer are truly hungry, few plants will be immune from their browsing.
