The idea that grants exist to help people start a business is largely a myth. At times there may be special programs for certain groups of people, or a local community may put together some outside funding for some seed money grants. Typically the business owner needs to assume that he or she will need to be prepared with the necessary capital or understand where loans or equity funding can be obtained.
