  4. I have a 6-year-old Tennessee walking horse that became overweight. I had to put him on Carb-X, curtail his eating, exercise him more, and use a grazing muzzle. He has lost weight, but now I am wondering if I can quit using the grazing muzzle since winter is here and the grasses probably don't have as much nutritional value as they did in warmer months.   5. I have two overweight donkeys. I restrict their feed (no grain, only minimal hay) and restrict their access to grass (a couple of hours/day). They are outside day and night, I take them on walks in the hills on the weekends for exercise. Short of starving them I'm not sure that I can restrict their diet to less than they are getting now. One has a cresty neck and fat deposits on his back. There are now many supplements on the market (mostly with Mg) that claim to "help metabolism" and reduce crestiness. Are these worth trying?
