Egg Bar Shoe

Last Updated: October 11, 2011

View as web page

The egg bar shoe is used to support the rear portion of the foot. It is very useful in horses that have under-run or collapsed heels, especially those that have pain in the posterior heel area, such as horses with navicular disease.

The egg bar is a closed shoe that is wider in the heels from the midpoint back and may extend beyond the heel nearly to the bulbs.
