Bollgard Cotton

A cotton variety that has been genetically altered to express an endotoxin (Cry1Ac) derived from a bacteria (Bacillus thuringiensis) that is active against some caterpillar pests, such as tobacco budworms, bollworms, and European corn borers. Bollgard cotton is also called Bt cotton.
