A thoroughpin is a fluid-filled, soft enlargement in the hollow on the outside of the hock. The enlargement can be pushed from outside to inside of the hock. It is caused by a strain and linking of synovial fluid from the flexor tendon. The condition rarely causes lameness and is considered a blemish.
