STILLWATER, Okla. – Small business owners can now add another Web site to their list of bookmarks. Delivering Success is an online resource with very useful information designed to deliver business solutions for entrepreneurs.
“Delivering Success is an online video-on-demand source of successful entrepreneurs with national co-sponsorship by the U.S. Postal Service and the U.S. Small Business Administration,” said Glenn Muske, Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension Service home-based and micro business specialist, and interim assistant director. “This site provides valuable information that is available and convenient for entrepreneurs.” Delivering Success can be found at www.sba.gov/deliveringsuccess.com.
Muske said the videos share key information on the elements of success for a small business, in addition to an overview of business basics, business plan development resources, research and planning, small business friendly financing and promotion of businesses.
The videos are available around-the-clock and are an ideal foundation for beginning entrepreneurs and business owners.
“With 24-hour-a-day access, seven days a week, entrepreneurs can view the site at a time that is convenient for them,” Muske said. “The SBA and the U.S. Postal Service are working hard to offer answers to the challenges faced by small businesses and this site is definitely a step in the right direction.”
Delivering Success video interviews include a business reality check, techniques to take business to the next level and the top 10 tips to get a business started and keep it growing.
The U.S. Postal Service has a link on its site for small business owners – USPS.com/smallbiz. This offers price comparisons for shipping options and shipping tools, which include supplies, pricing desktop postage, finding ZIP codes and free package pickup.
According to the SBA of Oklahoma, half of the U.S. non-farm private output and employment is generated by small firms with 500 or fewer employees. In Oklahoma, small business owners, including women, minorities and home based owners, were leaders in the state’s economy in 2003.
“Small businesses are a great asset to Oklahoma’s economy,” he said. “The jobs they provide give us economic growth—these entrepreneurs are diligent and creative, and the numbers show it.”
Muske said the OCES is able to help entrepreneurs and small business owners by providing educational materials and workshops. For more information contact your local County Extension educator.
