The offset gable is a triangular roof with two equal slopes of different lengths meeting at a ridge. It resembles the combination roof, which is two unequal slopes of different lengths. The offset gable roof is used on both narrow and wide structures for horse housing and associated activities.
Common framing methods involve rafters supported on walls, interior posts and beams, or a clear-span truss or rigid frame gable roof with a roof extension on one side. The roof extension may be either clear span or supported on interior posts and beams. Both wood and metal construction are used.
