A common land unit, or CLU, is a permanent contiguous boundary that has a common owner and a common producer in agricultural lands associated with USDA farm programs. These areas consist of common land cover and land management aspects to a boundary. These CLUs are vector polygons derived by digitizing features such as roads, waterways, and fence and tree lines from existing aerial photographs. They have an error of approximately 3 meters (10 feet).
