The 21st Century Agriculture content area highlights the current and future production of food and fiber in order to feed and produce the necessities of life for the world’s population. The world’s population is increasing daily however the arid land to produce food and fiber has been stable. Therefore, new methods, technologies and crop genetics are needed in order for efficient production of crops to sustain life here on earth. Educational material on how crops are produced along with new technologies to producing food and fiber are presented within this module. The 21st Century Agriculture content area is split into two modules which educates youth about 1) how food and fiber are produced and 2) precision agriculture.

1. Food and Fiber Production

Currently, knowledge about the production of food and fiber are not well known. This module focuses on the basics of crop productions and what is required to grow crops for food.

2. Precision Agriculture[1]

The Precision Agriculture module educates youth about the exciting new technologies being used to efficiently produce food and fiber. Areas such as geospatial technologies, remote sensing, variable-rate technology and several others will be presented to provide an overview about new and future technologies being employed by farmers today.
