STILLWATER, Okla. -- The lifeblood for any entrepreneurial economy are ideas and new ideas promote economic growth and innovation through entrepreneurial ventures.
Advocate the entrepreneurial spirit in your community by celebrating entrepreneurship in America Feb. 23 – March 1.
Glenn Muske, Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension Service interim associate dean, assistant director, family and consumer sciences, said with the emergence of a strong global economy, it is important for the future of the United States to put an emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking.
“By encouraging this type of thinking jobs are created as opposed to depending on existing ones,” he said. “Other countries show more efficiency in regard to manual labor and repetitive jobs. For the U.S. economy and its citizens to benefit, entrepreneurial thinking must be nurtured for continued growth and success.”
National Entrepreneurship Week will focus on the heritage of entrepreneurship in America and new opportunities for a new generation.
“There are many goals to encourage lifelong learning that prepares new leaders for the future,” Muske said. “National Entrepreneurship Week encourages entrepreneurship as a possible career option in the competitive global market.”
Educators are encouraged and invited to participate in events held locally and nationally to introduce students to opportunities to become self reliant and develop entrepreneurial skills.
National Entrepreneurship Week was initiated in February 2007 with a special focus on entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurs in the U.S.
