Corn seeding rates will be higher in the northern US and lower in the southern US.
For Kentucky, seeding rates between 22,000 to 30,000 seeds/acre is the typcial range. The lower end of the range is for poorly drained and/or drought-proned soils. The higher rates are for more productive soils. Corn grown on irrigated acres in Kentucky should should be increased up to 32,000 seeds/acre.
