Iron Deficiency Chlorosis (IDC) is a condition that is common in very high pH soils (>7.6), and is associated with high calcium carbonate, soluble salt, and nitrate levels. Symptoms are similar to Mn deficiency with interveinal chlorosis and stunting.
Variety selection is the key to managing IDC. Tolerant varieties are identified in public variety testing results and through private seed company data.
