UVALDE, Texas -- A specially created “Water Conservation in Landscape and Turf” program will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on April 29 in the auditorium of the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 1619 Garner Field Rd., Uvalde.
The program is free and open to the public.
Program topics will include drought-tolerant Texas SuperStar plants, online water conservation resources, landscape care and landscape drip irrigation.
“This program will be useful to the homeowner who is looking to beautify a landscape without using a lot of water,” said Dr. Larry Stein, an AgriLife Extension horticulturist at the center and program presenter. “It will also be helpful for those in the green industry who might want to learn about some other tough and dependable low-water-use plants that do well in this area.”
Program participants will receive a free copy of the San Antonio Landscape Care Guide and “Create a Texas Wildscape” pamphlet.
