Webinars

The Entrepreneurs & Their Communities team offers a free monthly webinar on a variety of issues of interest to small business owners, farmers, business coaches and mentors. The webinars are presented live on the second Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. (Eastern), 1 p.m. (Central), 12 noon (Mountain) and 11 a.m. (Pacific). All webinars are recorded and archived for on-demand viewing.

January 

Maps, Apps and Mobile Media Marketing!

January begins our three-part eCommerce series for small business owners on how to enhance and utilize the online tools to reach a new audience!

Today’s customers use smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices to find businesses and points of interest; connect with companies and their friends; and make purchases from any location.  This webinar introduces various opportunities for entrepreneurs to use mobile media marketing to improve their visibility, connectivity, customer relationships and their bottom line. Participants will gain access to mobile media marketing examples and resources.

Julie Fox, Program Director Direct Marketing, Ohio State University will be the featured presenter for the January 12, eXtension Entrepreneurs and Their Communities Webinar. 

No pre-registration is required and there is no fee to participate. About 10 minutes prior to the start time simply go the Adobe Connect Pro meeting room at https://connect.extension.iastate.edu/etc-cop. You will be presented with a login screen that has an "Enter as Guest" option. Enter your full name then click "Enter Room" to join the conference. You will be able to hear the audio directly from your computer’s speakers.

Expanding Your Markets! Going Online

Small business owners of all kinds face the common question, “Do I really need an online presence?” Today the answer is simple – YES!. The webinar will discuss the why and the how of building an online presence. In doing so, it will focus on the newly released “Direct Marketing of Specialty Food Products Online” curriculum - http://go.unl.edu/directmarketingfood. The curriculum contains video clips from business owners tell their story of going online. This online curriculum is available for business owners as well as for use by educators as part of educational programs. The basic questions that must be asked will be presented along with resources to help answer the questions.

Security and Organizational Risk Planning

This presentation provides an introduction to the fundamental principles and topics of security, disaster recovery and risk management.  Participants will learn critical security principles that enable them to plan, develop, and perform recover planning and enhance overall security.  The solutions presented will range from paid solutions to Free Open Source Solutions to fit any budget and all technical expertise levels.
