Essential Fatty Acids

Essential Fatty Acids-(EFAs) Fatty acids that either cannot be synthesized or are synthesized in inadequate amounts by animals.

Animals use essential fatty acids during:

  • growth
  • maintenance
  • proper functioning of physiological processes.
