Neutral Detergent Fiber

Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) - That portion of a forage that is insoluble in neutral detergent; synonymous with cell well constituents. It measures the cell wall content of the plant and lower values are preferred. Plants harvested at more extended stages of maturity will have increased levels of NDF.
