Weaning-beef cattle

Weaning- Separating young animals from their dams so that the offspring can no longer suckle.

Fence Line Weaning

  • allows calves to remain in close visual contact of their dams to help relieve stress

Two-Step Weaning

  • uses an antisuckling deviceĀ  that prevents calves from nursing but allows them to drink and eat and remain with their dam

Early Weaning

  • wean calves at 150 days or less
