UIP- Undegraded intake protein. Protein that is not degraded in the rumen. It may be digested in the intentional tract of the animal. The reason for balancing the ration is to ensure that there is enough crude protein and that the proportions of SIP, DIP, and UIP will meet the requirements of the cattle's bacteria in the rumen.
