Tallow

Tallow- Is the fat of cattle and sheep. The major use of tallow is in animal feeds. This fat helps prevents against rancidity which makes the food unpalatable.

There are two major classifications based on human consumption:

  • edible- These fats are only produced from the edible carcass parts
  • inedible-Are usually the fats that are found in animal feeds
