Prenatal

Prenatal- Prior to being born. Preceding birth.

The prenatal develop of animals can be divided into three periods:

  • The period of the ovum culminates with the initial attachment of the blastocyst.
  • The embryonic period extends from day 15 to day 45 days.
    • In this period rapid growth and differentiation occurs in which major tissues, organs, and systems are established.
  • The fetal period extends from day 45 to birth.
    • This period is characterized by the growth and development of the fetus.
