Ovary- In animals, the female reproductive gland in which the eggs are formed and progesterone and estrogenic hormones are produced. In plants, the enlarged lower part of a pistil, enclosing the ovules or young seeds.
POULTRY: The ovary is a part of the female avian reproductive tract which holds the female genetic material and collects the yolk material normally associated with eggs.
