AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Travis County will sponsor an educational program relating to wildlife and predatory animals from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 8.
The “Wildlife Management and Predator Control Workshop” will be presented at the Hornsby Bend Wastewater Facility, 2210 South Farm-to-Market 973, in southeast Austin.
“This program will benefit small-acreage landowners as well as homeowners who want to know more about managing wildlife and controlling predators on or near their property,” said Brad Pierce, AgriLife Extension agent for agriculture in Travis County.
Program topics will include deer management in the Texas Hill Country, feral hog management for small-acreage landowners and control of predatory species in Central Texas.
Four continuing education credits will be offered.
“There are more and more of us living in areas where we have to share an environment with wildlife and predators,” said Jim Gallagher, AgriLife Extension wildlife specialist in Uvalde and a program presenter. “This program will keep attendees up to date on issues having to do with wildlife and predators, such as coyotes and feral hogs, and what they can do about them.”
The cost of the workshop is $25 and includes lunch and educational materials. Program registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
