Adding Color to Your Plate Learning Lesson

The Self-Learning segments provide an in-depth look at important topics within each of the Families, Food, and Fitness areas. Eating fruits and vegetables are a very important component to having a healthy, well-balanced diet as shown by the My Pyramid. MyPyramid tells us exactly how much of each food group we should be eating in easy-to-understand measurements.

  • Increase the number of colorful fruits and vegetables consumed daily
  • Identify three health benefits of eating fruits and vegetables
  • Increase physical activity by adding at least one new activity
  • Identify three health benefits of walking and other forms of physical activity
