BROOKINGS, S.D. — A new Web site from the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service is a one-stop source for information on family finances, parenting, and health.

Find the “Thriving in Today’s Times” Web site at this link: http://sdces.sdstate.edu/thriving/. At the Web site, use the drop-down menus to find information in three main subject areas. The “Family & Personal Finance” section covers such topics as budgeting, insurance and retirement planning. Under “Family Life & Parenting,” find materials on parenting, stress and depression, and community resources. The “Nutrition, Health & Food Safety” section includes topics such as gardening and food preservation along with the nutrition and food safety offerings.

Charles Mix County Extension Educator Carrie Johnson said Extension family and consumer science educators created the Web site to provide families and individuals research-based resources to help them manage their resources in today’s rough economic times. The site will be continually updated as more information becomes available.
