RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Southern Area’s 4-H camp is being held at the Nevada State 4-H Camp at beautiful Lake Tahoe from August 16-21, 2009. Registration is open to campers between the ages of 8-12 until the camp is full.
This year’s theme, Superheroes, utilizes the 4-H Science, Engineering and Technology (S.E.T) program. During the six days, the campers will participate in activities centering on hiking, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), digital photography, robotics, geo-cashing, rocketry, jewelry-making and much more. The teen leaders group is already hard at work mapping out this year’s activities, including the traditional camp dance.
Cost of the camp is $350 and includes transportation, meals and activities. Youth who provide their own transportation to and from camp will receive a $150 discount on the camp cost.
