Full-time, grant-funded, non-tenure leading, faculty position. Preferred location is Norfolk, Nebraska. Other suitable locations may be negotiated and could possibly include Omaha or Grand Island. The position will provide educational programming and statewide leadership in improving water quality and conserving water resources through an integrated approach to stormwater management and greenspace practice education.

Extension Educator, Non-Formal/Informal STEM Education
ABOUT THIS POSITION
This full time, non-tenure track, joint, professional and academic position and is a member of both the ECYD and SEC academic staff. Youth development colleagues specialize in non-formal education, youth development, professional development and training, applied research, and evaluation. STEM education colleagues specialize in learning and cognition, STEM integration, instructor development, and evaluation and assessment. This position is eligible for Extension academic rank and promotion. The appointment is annually renewable contract. This individual will also be encouraged and assisted in developing ties/joint appointments with other University academic units to support his or her work and scholarship.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A doctorate degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics education or a youth development field is required. Research experience in applying STEM education in non-formal settings is required. Significant course work and scholarship in STEM education or other discipline related to working with youth and/or program development is required. Course work in child and adolescent development, curriculum and instruction, educational program design, experiential learning and pedagogy is preferred.

EXTENSION EDUCATOR LEADERSHIP AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
ABOUT THIS POSITION
This Extension Educator meets program area outcome and impact goals through education, outreach, applied scholarship and leveraging University of Minnesota resources for and with communities in west central Minnesota.
LCE programs currently include U-Lead, U-Facilitate and U-Connect, customer service for public agencies, Horizons and Farmer-Lender Mediation. As scholar-practitioners, Educators make these and other program resources available as they work to assess, develop, deliver and evaluate programs; consider and apply scholarly research; contract and establish partnerships; utilize technology; and continue their professional development. This position will also be involved in designing, participating in and/or implementing community initiatives. This position reports to the Program Leader for Leadership and Civic Engagement (LCE). The Program Leader will provide coaching in performance of her/his role, provide performance evaluation and direct personnel actions.
