MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The number of aircraft collisions with birds and other wildlife is on the rise, and airport managers are working to address the situation. There’s an elaborate effort to come up with solutions, part of which would include habitat modification at and near airport runways. This week, K-State wildlife specialist Charlie Lee looks at the extent of the problem, and what’s being done to curb it.
