Vibriosis

Vibriosis- A bacterial disease caused by Campylobacter fetus venerealis in cattle characterized by infertility and abortion.

Clinical Symptoms

  • early pregnancy
  • extended breeding seasons
  • infertility

Diagnosis:

  • Herd has an increase in the number of services per conception
  • Breeding seasons prolonged
  • Laboratory tests must be done to diagnosis the disease

Treatment and Prevention:

  • Vaccinate with a vibriosis vaccine that is commonly combined with Leptospirosis
  • Eliminate females and males with abnormal genitalia
  • Using artificial insemination with noninfected semen for 2 years will eliminate the disease
