Parenting Tips for Your 17-18 Month Old Toddler

Your child must explore to learn. Help her explore safely. She will explore everything around her. She will put everything into her mouth and reach for everything she can see.

She will crawl or climb onto, into, above, or below anything. She does not know what is dangerous. She cannot remember “no.” It is up to you to think ahead for her, to understand that at any time, she may suddenly do something that will put her in danger. It is up to you to give her safe places to explore and to watch her to be sure she is playing safely. 25 & 26 Months 1
