FARGO, N.D. -- The North Dakota State University Extension Service’s Center for Community Vitality is holding a Food Entrepreneur Basic Training Boot Camp at the Kelly Inn in Bismarck on Oct. 22.
This daylong workshop is for entrepreneurs who want to start a food processing business or take their small food business to the next level.
Food industry and university experts from across North Dakota will cover a broad range of subjects geared toward helping potential businesses go from the idea stage to providing a marketable product to the customer.
Entrepreneurs will learn about topics including processing and packing, patents and trademarks, health regulations, good manufacturing practices, labeling requirements, the Pride of Dakota program, marketing, product evaluation, legalities and liabilities, funding and developing a business plan.
Attendees also will be connected to industry resources and other individuals who may be starting their own businesses.
The cost of the training is $35, which covers materials, lunch and breaks.
The NDSU Extension Service, NDSU Center for Community Vitality, North Dakota Department of Commerce, North Dakota Department of Agriculture and North Dakota governor’s office are sponsoring the workshop.
