URBANA, Ill. -- Two University of Illinois Extension websites have been updated to offer the latest information about two standard topics of the season—fall color and apples.

"The Miracle of Fall and Apples & More are two of our most popular websites," said Jane Scherer, U of I Extension urban programs specialist and director of its websites.

"Both offer information that can help people find and see the best fall color and enjoy the apple harvest that is upon us."

The Miracle of Fall website (http://urbanext.illinois.edu/fallcolor/) includes sections explaining why leaves turn as well as the best places to see and enjoy fall color. Information about fall festivals is also available.

Apples & More (http://urbanext.illinois.edu/apples/) not only covers the history of apples but includes recipes and information about varieties and nutrition.

"There is also information on information on apple festivals and apple orchards that can help in planning family outings," she said.
