Easing Life Tasks with Assistive Technology

Assistive technology (AT) refers to a variety of devices and strategies that are designed to adapt certain tasks. If you or the person you care for needs assistance because of a chronic condition such as diabetes or arthritis, lives with a disability, or is recovering from a surgery, then assistive technology tools may be helpful. In this learning lesson, you will learn about different assistive technology devices in the areas of personal care, food preparation, housecleaning, and recreation; find out how to purchase assistive technology; and discover how assistive technology can help fashion an easier lifestyle.

After completing the lesson, you will have an opportunity to provide feedback about the usefulness of this learning lesson. We thank you in advance for helping us improve our educational materials so that we can better help other caregivers and care recipients.
