European Foulbrood: A New Feature Page
European Foulbrood: A Bacterial Disease Affecting Honey Bee Brood
A new honey bee disease and pest page on European Foulbrood has been developed by the University of Tennessee. This is the most comprehensive, original content developed for the eXtension.org, Bee Health project to date. It involves significant detail, with references and high quality, original images. It was designed to be a model for the rest of the honey bee disease and pest pages.
Reviewers Needed
The above page is already published, but we would like to establish a peer review system for this and future pages. We ask for three volunteers to review the EFB page and give brief or detailed feedback. To participate as a reviewer simply respond to Michael Wilson at mwilso14@utk.edu that you would like to participate. Michael will write back with instructions when three names are obtained. If more then three people respond, Michael will retain your names for future reviews.
2009 National eXtension.org Conference in St. Louis
http://about.extension.org/2009-extension-national-conference/
Michael Wilson and Paul Rhoads of the University of Tennessee will represent the Bee Health CoP at the national eXtension.org conference in St. Louis. This will give Bee Health exposure to many other communities and extension and research professionals through a poster display, Content Managed Board participation, and workshops. Pages from the Bee Health group will be featured with others, in a workshop titled, "Building Connections Between Research Communities and eXtension". This workshop is developed by an eXtension.org Content Management Board task force charged with better connecting researchers to eXtesnsion.org. This task force is lead by Rick Koelsch, Assistant Dean of Extension, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Michael Wilson of Bee Health is participating in this task force and the Content Managed Board of eXtension.org.
