Dr. Brett Scott Extension horse specialist in the Department of Animal Science. He received a bachelor's from Oklahoma State University, and his master's and doctorate from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Scott leads a new program owners designed to inform new horse owners of facilities, feeding programs, general health care, and responsibilities of horse owners.

Dr. Scott is also involved with youth education and co-chairs the Texas State 4-H Horse Committee and is involved in planning, conducting and evaluating major activities such as the State 4-H Horse Show and the Extension Summer Horsemanship School program. This work involves close cooperation and collaboration with major stock show groups in the state. Dr. Scott also assists in the curriculum development and training for Volunteer Adult Leaders in Texas. He is currently the Co-Chair for the National Western 4-H Congress Equine Contests in Denver, Colorado.
