The Shelter of Trees is Appreciated in Winter

The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum has suggestions to decrease winter winds, conserve fuel, maintenance and energy.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The benefits of trees are obvious when you're outdoors on a hot, sunny day. From inside a heated building in the middle of winter the shelter they provide may seem less tangible, but correctly placed trees can reduce heating bills by 15-35 percent or more.
