DAVIS, Calif. -- Protecting streams by installing fencing and replanting native vegetation helps stop stream bank erosion, improves wildlife habitat and enhances water quality in rangeland watersheds, according to a study by Sonoma County University of California Cooperative Extension researchers. The scientists found, however, that challenges remain for managing restored streams and balancing multiple natural resource objectives over time.
