LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - February 22-26 is Severe Weather Week in Arkansas, a reminder to be prepared for any emergency, especially with spring storm season just weeks away, said Denise Brochetti, assistant professor-nutrition for the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture.

"The National Weather Service reminds us that the first three or four months of the year are high times for tornadoes and other severe weather," she said. "Now is a good time to review what actions to take in case the power goes out or your home is damaged by a storm."

In February 2008, a tornado outbreak caused 57 deaths in Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. Last April, a tornado hit Mena, killing three people.
