Summary
There are many methods a producer can use to reduce predator losses. The best method will depend on the location, your time commitment and the terrain your animals use. Most often, good fencing along with guard animals will keep predator losses to a minimum. It is important to remember that there is no possible way to prevent 100 percent of predator losses. Also, when domestic dogs are involved, the situation gets very complicated because of the attachment most people have to their pets. You must follow the law when implementing a predator control program of any type, so be sure to check your local regulations before you initiate a predator control system.
