Short Biography

Charles (Chuck) Gay is associate vice president for Utah State University Extension. He began his Extension career in 1964 as the first range specialist at New Mexico State. He has experience in both the public and private sectors, and has served as consultant to the livestock industries of more than 30 countries. He is a member of the Society for Range Management, Society of American Foresters, Soil and Water Conservation Society, Sigma Xi and the New York Academy of Sciences. He is past president of the Association of Natural Resources Extension Professionals, and has served on the Joint Council of Extension Professionals. He was assistant dean of USU’s College of Natural Resources for 12 years. He is a member of numerous national committees concerned with federal budget, program, and Farm Bill issues.
