Dr. Jennifer Anderson is presenting a webinar through eXtension's Families, Food & Fitness CoP discussing "Food Friends." The "Food Friends" program directed by Dr. Jennifer Anderson captured the attention of leaders in Washington, D.C. and the program is now featured on the new White House's 'Let's Move' Blog, initiated by First Lady, Michelle Obama. This program has two components: Fun With New Foods and Get Movin' With Mighty Moves, which have been tested and evaluated with scores of Head-Start classrooms over a 10-year period. The evaluation shows statistically significant, positive behavior changes among Head-Start students. The webinar is scheduled for February 23rd, at 9 a.m. Mountain time, 10 a.m. Central time, and 11 a.m. Eastern Time.

Join the Families, Food & Fitness eXtension Community of Practice for a joint webinar with Dr. James Hill and Dr. Jennifer Anderson, discussing the philosophy of "America on the Move" and how it reaches community groups along with some of their new research. Dr. Hill is co-founder of "America on the Move," a national weight gain prevention initiative that aims to inspire Americans to make small changes in how much they eat and how much they move to prevent weight gain. Dr. Hill is also a co-founder of the National Weight Control Registry, a registry of individuals who have been successful in maintenance of a reduced body weight. Both Dr. Hill and Dr. Anderson are conducting research with "America on the Move" collaboratively.
