Preparing for spring floods will be the focus of a February 21 EDEN-sponsored webinar. The one-hour webinar, facilitated by North Dakota Extension Agricultural Engineer and eXtension Flood Community of Practice leader, Kenneth Hellevang, will be offered at 10:00 a.m. CST.
EDEN delegates and Extension educators are invited to take part in the discussion about Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) and eXtension flood resources they can use to teach local community leaders and citizens how to prepare for floods.
“Developing and implementing a preparedness plan isn’t complicated, and it can save a home and possessions,” says Hellevang. “This webinar is intended to be a networking tool for EDEN delegates and Extension educators in states likely to be impacted by flooding this spring.” According to the National Weather Service, indications at this time suggest major flooding is likely along the Red River and the Mississippi River.
