LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska child care providers can learn more about food safety during a series of University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension online classes.

The web-based food safety program, Keeping Kids Safe, will be offered from 7-8 p.m. Central Time Feb. 28, March 15 and March 31.

The online classes can be accessed from any home or business computer, said Cami Wells, UNL Extension educator in Hall County. There is no cost to participate in the classes and 1 hour of in-service credit is awarded for each session.

The Feb. 28 session will cover food safety and sanitation practices in the child care setting. The March 15 session will discuss food allergies and intolerances. The March 31 session will focus on safe handling of milk, formula and commercially prepared and home prepared baby food.

The classes will be taught by UNL Extension educators from Buffalo, Hall, Greeley, Howard, Sherman and Valley counties.
