dog breeds descended from "bully breeds", namely the historical bulldog breeds found in England. Usually refers to the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Bull Terrier, although other breeds with similar physical characteristics are sometimes referred to as bully breeds.
