Nordic Breeds - sturdy, stocky breeds of dogs that are native to regions such as Norway and Sweden. These breeds often contain thick double coats that aids in insulation and warmth. Examples include: Finnish Laphhund, German Spitz, and Iceland Sheepdog. Other “northern” breeds include dogs from Siberia and Alaska. These more common breeds are the Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, and Samoyed.
