Bermuda, when properly cared for, is the most desirable grass for hay production for horses in Mississippi. Use one of the hybrids for higher yields and quality. Alfalfa is the legume of choice; however, many of our soils are not suitable for producing alfalfa. Alfalfa is also difficult to cure without mold growth in humid conditions.
